My birthday's coming up! I'm so excited. The past couple days have been kinda crappy but I'm determined to have a good day tomorrow. Today I'm going to Party City to pick up hello kitty cake toppers and party stuff. I wanna pick up munchies for today and just bask in delicious nachos and watch movies with boo. Tomorrow I'm going to sushi with friends and possibly little tokyo.
I couldn't decide what I wanted for my birthday for the longest time, until I realized I really miss Nana and haven't read the last few(*^_^*). So boo's taking me to Borders so I can pick up some up! Thaz all I need really.. sushi and Nana.

"The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed."
1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4)
5) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-)

I've wanted this for ages, yet everytime I got a paycheck, I'd blow it before I got myself to a tattoo shop. Kage spotted me the money yesterday and I dragged my hung-over ass to Simi and finally got it done. I can't wait for it to heal so I can see the shading and highlights better!

Hope everyone's New Years was awesome! Mine stayed a bit laid back - not in the drinking, but in the "partying" sense. Stayed in with Tommy and Yosh and finished off a whole bottle of rum while watching metal videos and the AbFab marathon on BBC America. Which, by the way, has been one of my favorite shows for a looong time. If you haven't seen it yet, give it a go here. It's some seriously funny shite.
My brother Rhett and his wife came for a visit today, which was great. They just came back from their honeymoon in Egypt (lucky bastards) and brought over our belated xmas gifts. Everyone in my family got a framed piece of authentic papyrus, each with hieroglyphics spelling our names out. Mine has an ankh, Sean's has Osiris, and my parents have a pharaoh and his wife (which pharaoh, I have no idea). Such a cool gift! Just the fact that it's been painted on papyrus in the traditional way makes my nerdy little heart fill with glee. I'll definitely be keeping this one.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas! Mine was awesome \m/ Christmas Eve was spent drinking with my mom and watching a south park christmas marathon with my boyfriend. Woke up to a gorgeous tree and stockings filled with slim jims and hello kitty bandaids. My brother LOVED what we got him - a hand-me-down PS2 (since he destroyed his), Monsters of Death, and a huge book on vikings. I bought mum a Dooney & Burke bag and Clinique Happy giftset. While dad got a USC Trojans cap, shaving cream & WWII Aircraft calendar. My parents got my boyfriend guitar hero boxers and I bought him a MyVu. Now he looks like Jordie Laforge while he's watching his ipod videos. It's pretty fucking wondrous. And the much anticipated present I received from Tommy ..

A 22" flat screen monitor HELL YEAH. Now I can play my geeky computer games in giant screen and the picture is SO much better. I also have way more room on my desk - so needless to say I absolutely love it!!

Every great hero needs a nemesis. Jesus has Satan. Sherlock Holmes has Moriarty. And, of course, Santa has his Krampus.
The word Krampus originates from the Old High German word for claw (Krampen). In the Alpine regions the Krampus is represented by an incubus in company of Saint Nicholas. Traditionally, young men dress up as the Krampus in the first two weeks of December, particularly in the evening of December 5, and roam the streets frightening children (and adults) with rusty chains and bells. In some rural areas the tradition also includes slight birching by the Krampus, especially of young females.
On December 5th all around Salzburg, Austria there are Krampus runs where parades featuring St. Nikolaus and his buddy the Krampus abound. This custom has nothing to do with spirits or driving out winter; rather it deals primarily with good upbringing and conduct. Well-behaved children are rewarded and naughty ones get put in the sack and taken away by the Krampus.
How cool is that?
